What Is Love? (Part 1)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Five years ago, God used this chunk of scripture to fully restore my marriage! He used these verses to soften my heart and clear my mind. Back then, anytime my mind would start thinking about things that didn’t line up with Philippians 4:8, my husband would read 1 Corinthians 13 to me…filling my ears, mind, and heart with the TRUTH in God’s word.

As I was writing this post, I realized it was getting very long! So, I decided to break it up into 4 posts instead…I will post one a week for the next 4 weeks, so be sure to come back (or Follow Me) to see them all!

Becoming Redeemed

Ephesians 1:7

I am working through a study of Ruth right now with a group of lovely ladies on Facebook. Today’s focus is on Ruth 3:8-9 which says:

In the middle of the night the man was startled and he turned over, and found a woman lying at his feet. So he said, “Who are you?” And she answered, “I am Ruth your maid. Spread the hem of your garment over me, for you are a close relative and redeemer.”

Becoming Justified

“Therefore, since we have been JUSTIFIED by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Romans 5:1 (emphasis mine)

The word “justify” is used 4 times in Romans chapter 5 alone. When looking at Bible Study Tool’s page on justification, there are over 50 references listed. So I think it’s safe to say that this word is important to God!
